The Sand Springs chapter of Modern Woodmen fraternal society recently donated two Cleveland select trees and three Winslow apple trees to the Sand Springs municipal golf course.
“This program allows Modern Woodmen members to give the community a lasting gift,” Earline Lowther, Leader of the Modern Woodmen chapter said.
The gifts were apart of the Plant a Tree program, which is nationwide and was originally introduced by Modern Woodmen for its members in 2004. Lowther says that planting trees are just one important way that they can help create a secure future for families and the environment that they live in.
The name Modern Woodmen derives from the pioneer woodmen who tackled the difficult task of building secure homes for their families in forests, so that they would have a foundation to build upon in the future. It offers financial services to help clear members’ financial burdens.
Modern Woodmen are considered a tax-exempt fraternal beneficiary society. Members sell life insurance, annuity and even investment products. Products that will help improve the lifestyle of it’s stakeholders members and the communities that they reside in.
Put together by Modern Woodmen members in the Sand Springs community, chapters are able to provide opportunities to engage in social activities and volunteer projects.
